The Hue Flux Lightstrip is something like the new all-rounder from Philips Hue. My first impression was already very positive, and another version is set to be released soon in the form of the ultra-bright Hue Flux Lightstrip. However, I did ask myself one question during the presentation in September: What about extensions for the two new light strips?
While the accessories with the connectors, such as 90-degree corners, have already been officially announced, there is still no sign of the additional LED strips. Do you really have to cut a new Hue Flux Lightstrip to extend an existing light strip?
This is how much the extensions for the Hue Flux Lightstrip cost
Fortunately, the answer is “no.” Extensions including connectors for the Hue Flux Lightstrip and the Hue Flux Ultra Bright Lightstrip will be available in early 2026. There is no exact date yet, but here is an overview of the prices:
- Hue Flux 2-meter extension for €39.99
- Hue Flux 5-meter extension for €89.99
- Hue Flux 10-meter extension for €179.99
- Includes connector for connecting to the existing light strip
It’s interesting to note that the Hue Flux Lightstrip and the Hue Flux Ultra Bright Lightstrip use the same LED strip. The increased brightness of the Ultra Bright model is only made possible by the power supply and controller.
Both versions of the Hue Flux can be extended up to 20 meters with the standard extension. However, this will not change the maximum brightness of 2,000 lumens for the Hue Flux and 6,000 lumens for the Hue Flux Ultra Bright.
Of the seven new light strips – you can find a comparison of all models here – only the two Flux Lightstrips for indoor use can be cut, connected, and extended. Even the new premium product, the Hue OmniGlow, can only be shortened.
