September is going to be really exciting for Philips Hue: a major media event is planned, and numerous new products are likely to be unveiled at the International Radio Exhibition in Berlin. Exactly what these will be is still a complete secret.
In April, a striking number of entries for new light bulbs appeared at the FCC regulatory agency. So far, it is not possible to draw any conclusions about what these might be – apart from the fact that some of the light bulbs are marked with a Matter code.
My guess is that this year’s trend will also be toward value for money. There are supposed to be significantly cheaper light bulbs. A new name has already been chosen for them: Hue Essential.
The name is not new in the Hue universe. The relatively inexpensive Hue Solo Lightstrip, which was released last year, was actually planned as the Hue Essential Lightstrip. This can be seen in the official declaration of conformity and numerous retailer listings.
Ik vind het interessant over de producten Philips Hue
I am in USA. I really enjoy reading about your info. I mostly enjoy the Hues products. My house inside and outside are lighted up.
If that’s true, I can imagine how annoyed this will make the Hue Essentials app developer(s) (i.e. the iConnectHue equivalent for Android). 🙂
About time. You can’t fool all the people all the time. Cost of LEDs dropped significantly over the last 10 years, but hue – their greed has no bounds.
