After almost exactly four weeks, there is finally a new update for the Philips Hue app in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Version 5.42.0 of the Hue app is now available for download, meaning that 5.41.0 has been omitted.
What has changed in the new version? For the first time, it is now possible to hide the master switch on the home page. This means that it can no longer be activated unintentionally – this is exactly what happened to me once, including immediate complaints from my wife. You can find the necessary option in the settings of the Hue app in the new “App preferences” section. Unfortunately, some translations are still missing here, but there is currently only one menu item.
The new “Add a scene” function, which you can access via the plus icon in a room or zone, is also not yet perfectly translated. Philips Hue has reordered and redesigned a little here so that it will be even easier to create a new scene in future. This menu gives you access to the Hue light scene gallery, allows you to create your own scenes, save the current light settings or import scenes from other rooms.
