With the latest update to the Hue app, Philips Hue has already made its somewhat outdated Hue Tap smarter. In principle, the switch contains exactly the same module that we know from the Friends of Hue switches – just with slightly different firmware. I had already noted at the time that the third-party switches would be next in line.
After the start with the Hue Tap Dial Switch, Philips Hue has equipped almost all accessories with more functions in recent months and made them compatible with the 24-hour “natural light” scene. In December, it was the turn of the Hue wall switch module, followed by the dimmer switch and Smart Button in September.
In my opinion, the Philips Hue wall switch module is one of the best accessories for the smart lighting system. It solves the problem of ceiling lighting being disconnected from the power supply and turns the classic switch on the wall, where everyone knows how to operate it, into a smart switch.
I was able to draw your attention to this upcoming innovation back in September. Now Philips Hue has apparently started to slowly roll out the new functions. I have discovered the first comments from the community both on social networks and here in the comments. Specifically, it's about the Hue Smart Button and the Hue Dimmer Switch, both of which have been available on the market for some time.
Late last year, Philips Hue introduced the Natural Light feature. A 24-hour scene that adjusts colour temperature throughout the day, always providing the optimal white light for your well-being: Cool, activating white tones in the morning and relaxing warm white in the evening. In the last few months, the smart scene has already received several updates, including the ability to switch between time periods faster or slower if desired.
Yesterday afternoon, Philips Hue released another update for its in-house app. Version 4.48 is here and brings two small innovations – one concerns the motion sensors and was already a topic on our blog yesterday at noon. But that's not all, Philips Hue has another improvement in store. And this could be particularly interesting for you if you use the “Natural Light” scene.
With the update to version 4.46 released today, the Philips Hue app is to receive a new function that will make the interactive “Natural Light” scene a little better. In future, it will not only be possible to set fixed times for the individual light settings.
