Philips Hue has released another update for the official app in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, which brings some interesting new features. Among other things, sensors can now be grouped together – a function that was previously only available in Hue Labs.
Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to try out the features of the new version myself. After the Hue event in Hamburg on Tuesday morning, where the new Hue Twilight was presented among other things, I made my way to Munich to visit the Intersolar trade fair today. Balcony power stations and the like are quite interesting for our Apple blog.
This is all new in Philips Hue 5.19
- Group motion sensors and cameras to have the same behavior so you can cover large or unusually shaped spaces with Device groups.
- Every time you set a scene from the scene gallery, it’s now mapped to the lights in the space and what they’re used for.
- Go to sleep automations can now have a Sunset style.
- Start a Go to sleep automation by pressing a button on a Hue switch or an iOS widget, or in the app.
- New effects are now available on all compatible lights.
- Added support for new products.
In my opinion, there are some exciting functions, including sensor groups and sleep automations that can be started at the touch of a button. I still need to take a closer look at the scene history at home – here you can probably specify in the lamp settings that the light is used “for decoration” or for direct lighting.
