FabianAfter the start with the Hue Tap Dial Switch, Philips Hue has equipped almost all accessories with more functions in recent months and made them compatible with the 24-hour “natural light” scene. In December, it was the turn of the Hue wall switch module, followed by the dimmer switch and Smart Button in September.
But what about the Friends of Hue switches, which are offered by various manufacturers? They all have the same ZigBee module inside and, according to my information, there will soon be an update here too.
In addition to the option of activating “natural light”, there will also be some other functions that have already been introduced with the other switches. For example, a variable number of up to ten scenes that you can switch through at the touch of a button. Or the use of a time-based function and smart switching on and off with one of the four switches.
I have always used iConnectHue to configure the Friends of Hue switches, as it offers even more options. In the app, you can define the simultaneous press of a button on both rockers (top or bottom) as an action. This allows me to switch the light on or off on the entire ground floor, for example – very practical!
