As I announced last week, Philips Hue is introducing new functions for the Hue dimmer switch and the Hue Smart Button. After a few users have already been able to try out the new options, they are now being officially rolled out with the update to app version 5.5.0.
The official update description from Philips Hue states: “You can now customize your dimmer switches and smart buttons with up to 10 different time slots, your choice of up to 10 scenes to cycle through, the Natural light scene, and more for even more control. ”
The new options can be found in the settings of the Hue app in the Accessories section. Specifically, there are the following new options.
Philips Hue Dimmer Switch: “Add up to 10 time slots in time-based mode, 10 scenes in scene cycle mode and the ‘Natural light’ scene.”
Philips Hue Smart Button: “Add up to 10 time slots in time-based mode, 10 scenes in scene cycle mode and the ‘Natural light’ scene and control up to two different rooms.”

I have been waiting for this for sooo long! But now I have the app 5.5.0, I see the announcement in the Explore tab in the app, but no new options for my Buttons and Dimmer Switchen =(
It worked for me.
If you’re talking about the natural light scene you must set your switches and smart buttons on scene cycle.
I really would appreaciate these functions in the wall switch module. For me this is most neglected Hue component of all.
cam’t agree more
Wall Switch Module is an essential device for smooth integration
It’s a must update ASAP
Do you think the update to manage Natural Scene will also arrive for the Wall Switch Modules? They are very important to me too.
I really want the dimmer switch in my bedroom to enable natural light mode, but it still doesnt show up as an option, even while having a zone and room with the natural light in it. What am i missing here? Are my dimmer switches too old, does anyone know? Its the earliest models, since i was an early adapter to the hue ecosystem😅
I have the same issue, with v2 switches. I think its a bug
don’t get it, there’s no option. What fun
Something weird with the latest update (5.5.0). It randomly shows me new and updated switch configuration and sometimes old one. At the moment it shows me new editor for one hub, but old editor for another hub.
I managed to update Switches on both of my hubs (I have 2 in total), but now I cannot edit those anymore because it is showing the old configuration.
Another annoying thing is that v2 switches turn on natural light but before setting the correct scene, it goes to full brightness. I may have to try resetting the switches as it does not appear to happen with all the switches.
I hope these issues get fixed. Besides that I’m really happy with the update.
Now add it for the Lutron Aurora please!
I lost my old color settings forswitches, sensors and accesories. How do I lock in my old settings so i can keep and edit a little without starting from scratch? I have close to 70 lights on two bridges and 10ish switches and 10ish sensors.
The update now makes the switches basically useless. Since I also used it to cycle between only certain bulbs being active. No such option anymore. Great. Thanks hue.
Yeah, but now the cycle is started everytime from the beginning instead of continuing the cycle from the state it stopped last time. So the update is making things more difficult as requires to press more time. Even more useless with longer cycles.
