So far, Philips Hue has been rather reticent about the exact details of the launch of the Hue Wall Switch Module. We do know that there will be a single module for 39.99 euros and a double pack for 69.99 euros, and that sales will initially be exclusive to the Philips Hue online store. Also official is “spring 2021” as the launch date for Europe.
Now I can be a little more specific. Several sources have independently given me March as the launch date. So it shouldn’t take much longer – although with Philips Hue you never know exactly what the availability will look like in the end.
Interesting: Both the single Hue wall switch module and the double pack are shipped in a box with identical dimensions. And it looks like this:
In addition, I can already give you a glimpse of the scope of delivery and here, too, an interesting detail is revealed. Included is one clamp per module, with which you can connect the cables leading to the classic light switch with each other and thus permanently supply the connected Hue lamps with power. In addition, two connection cables are included per module: One short and one long. You can connect two switches to one module, and with the longer cable you will probably be able to reach the neighbouring switch box without any problems.
I hope to be able to provide you with more information soon – and certainly with my own experiences at some point, as soon as I finally get my hands on the new Hue wall switch module myself. Hopefully that won’t take long. Until then, I have collected more details for you in the following article:
