I am always looking for new ideas from the Hue world. And that’s exactly how I came across a product about a fortnight ago that I didn’t quite understand at first – probably also due to the language barrier, because I discovered the product in Denmark.
Unfortunately, due to its size, the switch does not quite fit into German switch series, it is much smaller. And it can’t be shipped directly to Germany either, I was able to have it shipped from Denmark through a private contact.
But the effort was worth it, just look what came out of it:
In the video you can see among other things what is inside the switch. Of course I don’t want to keep you in the dark here either: Inside this solution is the circuit board of a Philips Hue dimmer switch.
It fits perfectly into a 2-piece frame, as the Danes are a little smaller than we are here in Germany. Together with a few parts from the 3D printer you get this special solution.
For the completely rebuilt and ready to use switch the manufacturer charges a solid 50 Euros. Definitely not too much for such a great idea, it’s a pity that the particle will probably never come to Germany like this.
