First of all: defects can always occur, even with brand new devices. I had to experience this first hand on my Philips Hue Lily last year. Now it is the Hue White Filament lamps that cause problems for some users. I have received several emails with the same content: the lamps are flickering in some places.
For example, Hueblog reader Heinrich writes: “One of my Hue Filament lamps always flickers at less than 10 percent brightness. Have you heard about this problem?”
Thomas has similar problems: “I bought three Hue Filament lamps. The A60 version flickers at 50 percent. Is that normal?”
It's certainly not normal – and here we can definitely assume a defect. Certainly annoying, but not a big problem either. You can either claim the warranty through the dealer or contact Philips Hue customer support directly. This has always worked great on the phone in the past. Here is the phone number: 0800 1801 985.
I have used a total of four filament lamps and have had no problems. Probably only a small part will be affected. You are welcome to write about your experiences in the comments.
I bought a hue filament lamp and at any brightness it starts flickering, goes off for a second then comes back on. Was so annoying I bought another and that’s started doing the same thing. I’ve put them where other hue lamps are fine and they still do it.
Don’t like the orange colour either.
Waste of money.
